Virginia High School Soccer - Virginia Episcopal School held off by New Covenant

September 25, 2025: Lynchburg, VA 24501

In Thursday's league contest, the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) soccer team edged the visiting Virginia Episcopal School Bishops (Lynchburg, VA), by a count of 3-2.

Next, the Gryphons battle the Fishburne Military Caissons (Waynesboro, VA) in a Blue Ridge Athletic match, on Friday, September 26. New Covenant will attempt to move on its 9-1 season record. The Caissons come into the match with a 3-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind (Staunton, VA).

The Bishops now sport a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eastern Mennonite for a Blue Ridge Athletic match on Tuesday, September 30. Virginia Episcopal School will meet a Flames team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Fredericksburg Academy (Fredericksburg, VA). The Flames record now stands at 7-5.
