South Carolina High School Volleyball - Spring Valley tips Sumter

September 25, 2025: Columbia, SC 29229

Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Spring Valley Vikings (Columbia, SC) and the visiting Sumter Gamecocks (Sumter, SC), saw Spring Valley's volleyball squad nudge Sumter by a score of 3-2.

With the win, Spring Valley improves its record to 11-17 on the season. The Vikings travel to Blythewood (Blythewood, SC) to encounter the Bengals in a AAAAA Region 5 battle on Tuesday, September 30. The Bengals go into the battle with a record of 10-6. Blythewood lost 2-0 in their recent non-league battle against Nation Ford (Fort Mill, SC)

The Gamecocks now hold a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they host Lugoff-Elgin for a AAAAA Region 5 contest on Tuesday, September 30. Sumter will meet a Demons team coming off a 3-0 league win over West Florence (Florence, SC). The Demons record now stands at 12-3.
