Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR) and the host Springfield Millers (Springfield, OR), observed Thurston's volleyball team top Springfield by a count of 3-1.

The Colts (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against South Albany (Albany, OR). The Redhawks go into the non-league battle with a 10-1 record. In their last battle, South Albany achieved victory over Dallas (Dallas, OR), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Millers now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crater for a 5A Midwestern battle on Tuesday, September 30. Springfield will encounter a Comets squad coming off a 3-0 league win over North Eugene (Eugene, OR). The Comets record now stands at 7-2.
