The crowd at Monday's league test between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), saw Laney's soccer squad knock off South Brunswick by a count of 4-1.

The Buccaneers now hold a 10-0 record. They play next when they host Hoggard for a Mideastern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, September 27. Laney will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 1-1 league Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 11-0.

With the loss, South Brunswick drops to 2-4 on the season. The Cougars host North Brunswick (Leland, NC) to meet the Scorpions in a Mideastern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, September 27. The Scorpions come into the test with a record of 6-4. North Brunswick won 5-1 in their recent league test against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)
