Brunswick Pirates (Brunswick, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Charlton County Indians (Folkston, GA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 4-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Evans for a 6A Region 2 challenge on Thursday, September 29. Brunswick will face a Knights squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to South Effingham (Guyton, GA). The Knights record now stands at 6-16.

With the loss, Charlton County falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Indians host Clinch County (Homerville, GA) to face the Panthers in a 1A D-II Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, September 27. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 5-9. Clinch County won 16-7 in their recent league challenge against Echols County (Statenville, GA)
