The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans softball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Burke County Bears to 2 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Edmund Burke Academy moves its record to 7-8 on the year. The Spartans travel to Brentwood (Sandersville, GA) to play the War Eagles in a GIAA 2AA game on Tuesday, September 27. The War Eagles come into the game with a record of 12-5. Brentwood won 9-2 in their recent non-league game against Bulloch Academy (Statesboro, GA)

In their next game, the Bears play the New Hampstead Phoenix (Savannah, GA) in a 4A Region 3 game, on Wednesday, September 28. Burke County will attempt to move on its 11-11 season record. The Phoenix come into the game with a 3-11 record after their 20-0 league loss to Wayne County (Jesup, GA).
