Dalton Catamounts (Dalton, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cass Colonels (White, GA), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Catamounts now own a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cartersville for a 5A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, September 28. Dalton will battle a Hurricanes squad coming off a 14-5 non-league win over Ridgeland (Rossville, GA). The Hurricanes record now stands at 14-7.

With the loss, Cass falls to 7-15 on the campaign. The Colonels host Darlington (Rome, GA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 27. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 8-8. Darlington won 21-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Rome (Rome, GA)
