The Mecklenburg County Phoenix topped the visiting George Washington Eagles volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Tuesday's league test.

The Phoenix now have a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Martinsville for a Piedmont test on Wednesday, September 27. Mecklenburg County will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-9.

The Eagles (1-9) will now prepare for their test against Bassett (Bassett, VA). The Bengals enter the Piedmont test with a 7-7 record. In their last test, Bassett dropped by Patrick County (Stuart, VA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
