The Surry County Cougars held off the host Sussex Central Tigers volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Tuesday's league test.

The Cougars now have a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech for a Tri-Rivers test on Thursday, September 28. Surry County will confront a Dragons team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Charles City (Charles City, VA). The Dragons record now stands at 4-3.

The Tigers (1-4) will now prepare for their test against Brunswick (Lawrenceville, VA). The Bulldogs enter the Tri-Rivers test with a 0-8 record. In their last test, Brunswick was nudged by Franklin (Franklin, VA), 3-0, in a league test.
