In Thursday's league outing, the host Hoggard Vikings soccer squad scored a tight 3-1 victory over the Laney Buccaneers.

The Vikings (8-1) will now prepare for their outing against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars go into the Mideastern 3A/4A outing with a 2-6 record. In their last outing, South Brunswick North Brunswick (Leland, NC), 1-1, in a league outing.

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A outing, on Monday, September 30. Laney will attempt to improve on its 9-3 season record. The Screaming Eagle go into the outing with a 10-2 record after their 2-0 league win over West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC).
