In Thursday's league outing, the visiting Topsail Pirates soccer squad scored a tight 4-3 victory over the New Hanover Wildcats.

The Pirates (7-5) will now prepare for their outing against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Trojans go into the Mideastern 3A/4A outing with a 4-6 record. In their last outing, West Brunswick was edged by Ashley (Wilmington, NC), 2-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Wildcats play the North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A outing, on Monday, September 30. New Hanover will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The Scorpions go into the outing with a 6-3 record after their 1-1 league South Brunswick (Southport, NC).
