The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the visiting Northview Wildcats to 1 in the Yellow Jackets league triumph on Thursday.
The Yellow Jackets now have a 12-2 record. They play next when they host Avon for a non-league outing on Saturday, September 28. Perrysburg will play a Eagles team coming off a 3-1 league win over Berea-Midpark (Berea, OH). The Eagles record now stands at 13-1.
With the loss, Northview drops to 5-11 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Findlay (Findlay, OH) to play the Trojans in a Northern Lakes outing on Tuesday, October 1. The Trojans come into the outing with a record of 5-12. Findlay lost 3-2 in their recent league outing against Whitmer (Toledo, OH)
Match Summary
PERRYSBURG - As the second round of the NLL Buckeye Division matches started, Northview traveled to Perrysburg and although it was tightly contested throughout, it was Perrysburg with victory in four sets, pushing Northview to 5-11 overall, 2-3 in their division.
Leading for the Cats was senior outside hitter, Zoe Denny, with a team-high 14 kills, passing 1.75 and adding 6 digs. Also leading the offense was sophomore middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington, with 8 kills, hitting .375 and adding 8 blocks and 3 aces; and junior outside, Talia Twigg, with 9 kills, 8 digs, and passed a 1.78. Junior opposite, Bri Langenderfer, added 6 kills, hitting .500 and the offense was set by senior Emily Kwiatkowski with 27 assists and sophomore Alayna Sauer with 11. Defensively, senior libero, Paige LaBudda had a team-high 16 digs and senior DS, Sydney Rogers, added 9.
Northview enjoys the upcoming weekend off and will return home on Tuesday vs. Findlay.
