In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting South Laurel Cardinals volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Somerset Briar Jumpers.
The Cardinals (5-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Williamsburg (Williamsburg, KY). The Yellow Jackets enter the District 50 challenge with a 14-11 record. In their last challenge, Williamsburg beat Knox Central (Barbourville, KY), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Briar Jumpers meet the Todd County Central Rebels (Elkton, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 28. Somerset will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Rebels enter the challenge with a 12-10 record after their 3-0 league win over Russellville (Russellville, KY).
