The Grundy Center Spartans walloped the host Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS football team by a score of 56-8 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans play the South Hardin Tigers (Eldora, IA) in a 1A District 3 challenge, on Friday, October 3. Grundy Center will attempt to upgrade on its 5-0 season record. The Tigers come into the test with a 5-0 record after their 42-0 league win over Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (Garner, IA).

With the defeat, Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS drops to 3-2 on the campaign. The host Eagle Grove (Eagle Grove, IA) to meet the Eagles in a 1A District 3 test on Friday, October 3. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 1-4. Eagle Grove lost 36-28 in their recent league challenge against Central Springs (Manly, IA)
