    • Washington High School Football - Mercer Island thwarted by Hazen

    September 26, 2025: Mercer Island, WA 98040

    Hazen Highlanders (Renton, WA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA), 33-14 in a league battle.

    With the win, Hazen improves its record to 3-1 on the season. The Highlanders host Inglemoor (Kenmore, WA) to play the Vikings in a 2A/3A/4A Kingco - Mountain battle on Friday, October 3. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 3-1. Inglemoor won 42-21 in their recent league test against Redmond (Redmond, WA)

    The Islanders (1-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Newport - Bellevue (Bellevue, WA). The Knights enter the 2A/3A/4A Kingco - Mountain challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Newport - Bellevue ran past Renton (Renton, WA), 36-33, in a league challenge.
