Calhoun Yellow Jackets (Calhoun, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Woodland Wildcats (Cartersville, GA), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Yellow Jackets now own a 18-6 record. They take the field next when they host Cass for a 5A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, September 29. Calhoun will face a Colonels squad coming off a 11-2 league loss to Dalton (Dalton, GA). The Colonels record now stands at 8-16.

With the loss, Woodland falls to 11-13 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Hiram (Hiram, GA) to face the Hornets in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Wednesday, September 28. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 4-12. Hiram lost 10-2 in their recent league challenge against Cartersville (Cartersville, GA)
