North Forsyth Raiders (Cumming, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA), 8-5 in a league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 16-7 record. They take the field next when they host Shiloh for a 6A Region 8 challenge on Wednesday, September 28. North Forsyth will battle a Generals squad coming off a 14-1 league loss to Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA). The Generals record now stands at 6-12.

With the loss, Lanier falls to 7-13 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Apalachee (Winder, GA) to battle the Wildcats in a 6A Region 8 challenge on Thursday, September 29. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 21-3. Apalachee won 18-0 in their recent league challenge against Gainesville (Gainesville, GA)
