The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) and the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), saw George Wythe's volleyball squad beat Fort Chiswell by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, George Wythe upgrades its record to 2-8 on the year. The Maroons host Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to play the Spartans in a Mountain Empire bout on Thursday, September 29. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 11-3. Giles won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA)

The Pioneers now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they host Grayson County for a Mountain Empire bout on Wednesday, September 28. Fort Chiswell will play a Blue Devils squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Marion (Marion, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 6-5.
