Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) fans were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Wolverines confront the Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC) in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge, on Monday, October 2. Polk County will attempt to better on its 6-4 season record. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC).

The Cavaliers now have a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they host Brevard for a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge on Wednesday, October 4.
