West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 10-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Hawks face the Harding University Rams (Charlotte, NC) in a Queen City 3A/4A challenge, on Monday, October 2. West Mecklenburg will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record. The Rams enter the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 5-1 league loss to Hough (Cornelius, NC).

The Mavericks now have a 2-9 record. They take the field next when they host West Cabarrus for a non-league challenge on Thursday, September 28. Mallard Creek will face a Wolverines team coming off a 2-1 league win over Mooresville (Mooresville, NC). The Wolverines record now stands at 13-2.
