The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Hawkinsville Red Devils (Hawkinsville, GA) and the visiting Wheeler County Bulldogs (Alamo, GA), saw Hawkinsville's softball squad nip Wheeler County by a count of 8-5.

The Red Devils now sport a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they host Crawford County for a non-league match on Friday, September 29. Hawkinsville will face a Eagles squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Peach County (Fort Valley, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Wheeler County falls to 14-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Claxton (Claxton, GA) to face the Tigers in a non-league match on Monday, October 2. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 8-4. Claxton won 5-4 in their recent league match against Bryan County (Pembroke, GA)
