In Friday's non-league match, the host Midland Trail Patriots football squad scored a good 46-20 victory over the Summers County Bobcats.
The Patriots (2-3) will now prepare for their match against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Grizzlies enter the non-league match with a 2-2 record. In their last match, Nicholas County thwarted Lincoln (Shinnston, WV), 41-14, in a non-league match.
Coming up next, the Bobcats confront the James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV) in a non-league match, on Friday, October 4. Summers County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Mavericks enter the match with a 2-2 record after their 27-0 league win over Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV).
