The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) and the visiting St. Bonaventure Seraphs (Ventura, CA), witnessed Rio Mesa's flag football squad knock off St. Bonaventure by a tally of 22-12.

The Spartans (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA). The Dons enter the Channel contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Santa Barbara was toppled by Ventura (Ventura, CA), 39-12, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Seraphs battle the Simi Valley Pioneers (Simi Valley, CA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, September 30. St. Bonaventure will attempt to better on its 6-12 season record. The Pioneers enter the contest with a 6-10 record after their 20-14 non-league loss to Moorpark (Moorpark, CA).
