In Friday's non-league outing, the host Kingsford Flivvers soccer squad scored a tight 5-2 victory over the Houghton Gremlins.

The Flivvers (13-1) will now prepare for their outing against Lakeland (Minocqua, WI). The Thunderbirds go into the non-league outing with a 8-1 record. In their last outing, Lakeland Northland Pines (Eagle River, WI), 2-2, in a league outing.

Next up, the Gremlins play the Marquette Redmen (Marquette, MI) in a non-league outing, on Thursday, October 3. Houghton will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Redmen go into the outing with a 13-2 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Sault Area (Sault St. Marie, MI).
