In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish softball team scored a tight 12-9 win over the Mount St. Mary Rockets.
The Fighting Irish (13-15) will now prepare for their match against Shawnee (Shawnee, OK). The Wolves come into the non-league match with a 5-17 record. In their last match, Shawnee was routed by Durant (Durant, OK), 2-1, in a league match.
In their next game, the Rockets confront the Western Heights Jets (Oklahoma City, OK) in a non-league match, on Monday, September 30. Mount St. Mary will attempt to better on its 7-13 season record.
