In Friday's league challenge, the visiting South El Monte Eagles volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the El Monte Lions.

The Eagles (13-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Gabrielino (San Gabriel, CA). The Eagles come into the Mission Valley challenge with a 20-10 record. In their last challenge, Gabrielino beat Marshall (Pasadena, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the Arroyo Knights (El Monte, CA) in a Mission Valley challenge, on Monday, September 30. El Monte will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 3-13 record after their 3-0 league loss to Gabrielino (San Gabriel, CA).
