In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Madison Memorial Spartans volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Edgewood Crusaders.

The Spartans (4-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Homestead (Mequon, WI). The Highlanders enter the non-league challenge with a 8-10 record. In their last challenge, Homestead got by Whitefish Bay (Whitefish Bay, WI), 3-0, in a league test.

The Crusaders now own a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Madison East for a Big Eight test on Monday, September 29. Edgewood will face a Purgolders squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to South Milwaukee/St. Thomas More (, WI). The Purgolders record now stands at 4-10.
