In Saturday's non-league match, the host Wise Pumas football squad scored a close 26-19 victory over the Laurel Spartans.
The Pumas (3-1) will now prepare for their match against DuVal (Lanham, MD). The Tigers enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, DuVal nudged High Point (Beltsville, MD), 36-8, in a non-league battle.
The Spartans now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Potomac for a non-league battle on Wednesday, October 1. Laurel will play a Wolverines team coming off a 30-0 non-league loss to Oxon Hill (Oxon Hill, MD). The Wolverines record now stands at 2-1.
