Southern Cayuga Chiefs (Poplar Ridge, NY) backers exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Groton Red Hawks (Groton, NY), 5-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Southern Cayuga advances its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Marathon (Marathon, NY) to clash with the Olympians in a Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) test on Tuesday, September 30. The Olympians come into the test with a record of 8-0. Marathon won 6-0 in their recent league test against Newfield (Newfield, NY)

The Red Hawks now have a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Waverly for a non-league test on Monday, September 29.
