In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Balmorhea Bears volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Sierra Blanca Vaqueros.

The Bears (9-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Marfa (Marfa, TX). The Shorthorns come into the non-league challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, Marfa edged Iraan (Iraan, TX), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Vaqueros play the Fort Davis Indians (Fort Davis, TX) in a 1A Region I District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, October 7. Sierra Blanca will attempt to advance on its 0-9 season record.
