In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Fridley Tigers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Richfield Spartans.

The Tigers (3-7) will now prepare for their test against Visitation (Mendota Heights, MN). The Blazers go into the Tri-Metro test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Visitation was edged by Anoka (Anoka, MN), 2-0, in a non-league outing.

With the loss, Richfield drops to 6-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host St. Louis Park (St. Louis Park, MN) to play the Orioles in a non-league outing on Saturday, September 27. The Orioles come into the outing with a record of 4-5. St. Louis Park lost 3-1 in their recent league outing against Chaska (Chaska, MN)
