Klondike Cougars (Lamesa, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Cougars (19-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Loop (Loop, TX). The Longhorns come into the 1A Region I District 2 challenge with a 0-9 record. In their last challenge, Loop lost by Wellman-Union (Wellman, TX), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats play the Grady Wildcats (Lenorah, TX) in a 1A Region I District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, September 30. Wellman-Union will attempt to upgrade on its 11-13 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Wilson (Wilson, TX).
