In Wednesday's league battle, the Knoch Knights (Saxonburg, PA) volleyball team defeated the host New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), by a count of 3-0.

The Knights (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Mars (Mars, PA). The Fightin' Planets come into the WPIAL 3A 5 battle with a 5-3 record. In their last battle, Mars defeated Lincoln Park Performing Arts (Midland, PA), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Hurricanes encounter the Blackhawk Cougars (Beaver Falls, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 4 battle, on Thursday, September 29. New Castle will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record.
