The Yorktown Patriots held off the host George C. Marshall Statesmen volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Patriots now have a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Langley for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 3. Yorktown will confront a Saxons team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Herndon (Herndon, VA). The Saxons record now stands at 6-3.
The Statesmen (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Washington-Liberty (Arlington, VA). The Generals enter the non-league test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Washington-Liberty was nudged by McLean (McLean, VA), 2-0, in a non-league test.
