Owego Free Academy River Hawks (Owego, NY) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Oneonta Yellowjackets (Oneonta, NY), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the River Hawks face the Waverly Wolverines (Waverly, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 30. Owego Free Academy will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 5-0 non-league loss to Seton Catholic Central (Binghamton, NY).

The Yellowjackets now have a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Windsor Central for a Southern Tier Athletic Conference (STAC) challenge on Saturday, September 30. Oneonta will face a Black Knights team coming off a 5-0 league loss to Chenango Valley (Binghamton, NY). The Black Knights record now stands at 1-6.
