Southwest Georgia STEM Charter Aggies (Shellman, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Quitman County Hornets (Georgetown, GA), 5-1 in a league match.

The Aggies now sport a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they host Mitchell County for a 1A D-II Region 1 match on Tuesday, October 3.

With the loss, Quitman County falls to 1-12 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Pataula Charter Academy (Edison, GA) to face the Panthers in a 1A D-II Region 1 match on Tuesday, October 3. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 10-6. Pataula Charter Academy lost 13-5 in their recent league match against Baconton Charter (Baconton, GA)
