Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southeast Whitfield County Raiders (Dalton, GA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Phoenix now own a 15-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Heritage for a 4A Region 7 challenge on Monday, October 2. Sonoraville will battle a Generals squad coming off a 8-4 league win over Cedartown (Cedartown, GA). The Generals record now stands at 17-2.

With the loss, Southeast Whitfield County falls to 3-17 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Coahulla Creek (Dalton, GA) to battle the Colts in a non-league challenge on Monday, October 2. The Colts enter the challenge with a record of 13-8. Coahulla Creek won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Ridgeland (Rossville, GA)
