The Brewer Patriots volleyball team (Somerville, AL), was nudged 2-1 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host Austin Black Bears (Decatur, AL)

The Black Bears (18-20) will now prepare for their challenge against Fairview (Cullman, AL). The Aggies enter the non-league challenge with a 19-6 record. In their last challenge, Fairview nipped Holly Pond (Holly Pond, AL), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots meet the Lawrence County Red Devils (Moulton, AL) in a 5A Area 15 challenge, on Tuesday, October 3. Brewer will attempt to move on its 16-13 season record. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a 30-13 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Madison County (Gurley, AL).
