The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS) and the host Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS), saw Belmont's volleyball squad beat Mantachie by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Belmont upgrades its record to 28-8 on the year. The Cardinals host Red Bay (Red Bay, AL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 3. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 14-15. Red Bay lost 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Hackleburg (Hackleburg, AL)

The Mustangs now own a 17-1 record. They play next when they host Alcorn Central for a Class 3 Region 1 bout on Saturday, September 30. Mantachie will play a Bears squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Booneville (Booneville, MS). The Bears record now stands at 25-4.
