North Carolina High School Volleyball - East Wake overwhelmed by West Johnston

September 28, 2023: Wendell, NC 27591

In Thursday's league battle, the visiting West Johnston Wildcats volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the East Wake Warriors.

The Wildcats (11-4) will now prepare for their battle against Smithfield-Selma (Smithfield, NC). The Spartans come into the Quad County 3A battle with a 2-13 record.

Next, the Warriors encounter the Hunt Warriors (Wilson, NC) in a Quad County 3A battle, on Tuesday, October 3. East Wake will attempt to advance on its 2-15 season record.

Match Summary

The West Johnston volleyball team took care of business in workman like fashion tonight with a 3 set win over East Wake High school (25 -8, 25 - 13, and 25 - 18). The East Wake gymnasium, with its very low ceiling, always presents a few challenges, but the West girls were ready to play. Everyone was able to play tonight, with each and every girl contributing to the win in a meaningful way with solid play. Next up for the West girls is Smithfield-Selma at home on Tuesday night. Then, the Lady Wildcats enter into the home stretch of the regular season and face 3 very difficult opponents to wind up the fall campaign. Regular season champions typically get the home court advantage throughout the conference tourney, and the West girls are right in the thick of this exciting race for first place.
