In Thursday's league contest, the Fike Demons (Wilson, NC) volleyball squad knocked off the host Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC), by a margin of 3-1.

Next up, the Demons battle the South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC) in a Quad County 3A contest, on Monday, October 2. Fike will attempt to better on its 4-10 season record. The Trojans come into the contest with a 13-3 record after their 3-0 league win over C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC).

With the loss, Smithfield-Selma drops to 2-14 on the campaign. The Spartans host Hunt (Wilson, NC) to battle the Warriors in a Quad County 3A contest on Monday, October 2. The Warriors come into the contest with a record of 8-8. Hunt won 3-2 in their recent league contest against Southern Wayne (Dudley, NC)
