The Sandia Matadors soccer squad scored 9 points and held the host Capital Jaguars to 0 in the Matadors league victory on Saturday.
The Matadors now possess a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Manzano for a 5A District 2 bout on Tuesday, October 1. Sandia will play a Monarchs squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM). The Monarchs record now stands at 6-6.
With the loss, Capital moves to 4-6 on the year. The Jaguars host La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Bears in a 5A District 2 bout on Wednesday, October 2. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 9-2. La Cueva won 2-0 in their recent league bout against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
