In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Newark Memorial Cougars volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Irvington Vikings.
The Cougars (12-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Carlmont (Belmont, CA). The Scots come into the non-league challenge with a 9-4 record. In their last challenge, Carlmont was nudged by Menlo-Atherton (Atherton, CA), 2-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Vikings meet the Mission San Jose Warriors (Fremont, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 28. Irvington will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 2-1 league loss to Irvington (Fremont, CA).
