The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Jackson Fighting Indians (Jackson, MO) and the host Howell Central Spartans (St. Charles, MO), observed Jackson's softball team get by Howell Central by a tally of 7-3.

The Fighting Indians (21-8) will now prepare for their bout against Sikeston (Sikeston, MO). The Bulldogs go into the non-league bout with a 3-15 record. In their last bout, Sikeston was routed by Chaffee (Chaffee, MO), 19-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Spartans clash with the Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs (St. Peters, MO) in a Class 4 District 7 bout, on Monday, September 30. Howell Central will attempt to advance on its 11-12 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 16-5 league loss to Fort Zumwalt North (O'Fallon, MO).
