Fans at Saturday's league contest between the Olney Cubs (Olney, TX) and the host Petrolia Pirates (Petrolia, TX), observed Olney's volleyball team hold off Petrolia by a count of 3-2.

The Cubs (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Nocona (Nocona, TX). The Indians enter the 2A Region I District 8 contest with a 19-13 record. In their last contest, Nocona got by Archer City (Archer City, TX), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Pirates battle the Windthorst Trojans (Windthorst, TX) in a 2A Region I District 8 contest, on Tuesday, October 1. Petrolia will attempt to move on its 2-7 season record. The Trojans enter the contest with a 23-8 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Harrold (Harrold, TX).
