The Iola Bulldogs football team (Iola, TX), was tipped 22-16 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Maud Cardinals (Maud, TX)

The Cardinals (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Bowie (Simms, TX). The Pirates come into the 2A-2 Region III District 9 challenge with a 3-2 record. In their last challenge, Bowie nipped Smackover (Smackover, AR), 42-8, in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Granger for a 2A-2 Region IV District 13 challenge on Friday, October 7. Iola will meet a Lions team coming off a 35-6 non-league win over Bruni (Bruni, TX). The Lions record now stands at 5-1.
