In Thursday's league battle, the visiting Delone Catholic Squires soccer squad scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Bermudian Springs Eagles.
The Squires now sport a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Littlestown for a York-Adams 4 test on Monday, October 3.
With the loss, Bermudian Springs drops to 2-7 on the season. The Eagles travel to Biglerville (Biglerville, PA) to encounter the Canners in a York-Adams 4 test on Thursday, October 6. The Canners come into the test with a record of 13-1.
Match Summary
The Squires had a good match up with the Eagles away at their stadium. We changed our formation and had Aidan Groves #53 focused on Alex Alvardo #10 who successfully shut him down. The Squires scored in the first half from a throw in by JP Groves #4 to the goal to Angello Salazar #2 who put it in. In the 2nd half, another PK was called and successfully scored by Bermudian Springs. This is the 7th PK called against the Squires this season with only one save. To win the game, Aidan Groves #53 dribbled through traffic to feed the ball to Nolan Kruse #9 who put it in the right side of the goal for the game winning goal.
