Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC), 1-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs confront the Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) in a Coastal 3A challenge, on Tuesday, October 4. Dixon will attempt to better on its 6-3 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 6-0 league win over Richlands (Richlands, NC).

The Pirates now have a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they host West Carteret for a Coastal 3A challenge on Tuesday, October 4.
