Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 22-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shiloh for a 6A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, October 4.

With the loss, Lanier falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Woodland (Cartersville, GA) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, October 1. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 12-13. Woodland won 17-5 in their recent league challenge against Hiram (Hiram, GA)
