The Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) volleyball overcame the host Bureau Valley Storm (Manlius, IL), 2-0 in Thursday's league outing.

With the win, Newman Central Catholic upgrades its record to 15-2 on the year. The Comets travel to Pecatonica (Pecatonica, IL) to face the Indians in a non-league outing on Saturday, October 1. The Indians go into the outing with a record of 10-8. Pecatonica lost 2-0 in their recent league outing against Lena-Winslow (Lena, IL)

The Storm now own a 7-12 record. They play next when they travel to Fulton for a non-league outing on Saturday, October 1. Bureau Valley will face a Steamers squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Amboy (Amboy, IL). The Steamers record now stands at 15-4.
